Services I Offer

I will cater to a wide spectrum of fiction genres, but if you are writing SciFi (especially Cyberpunk), then chances are you will have my immediate attention. Feel free to contact me with details if you have questions regarding specifics.

Please also understand that language is a fluid mechanic. Opinions differ from editor to editor and author to author. While you are at total liberty to disagree with my final corrections, you are still obligated to pay for services rendered.

In addition, Developmental Editing does NOT guarantee acceptance from publishers.

Topics I will absolutely NOT cover:

  • Rape Fantasy – in any context.
  • Stepdad romance or anything similar, especially with heavy incest overtones.

Rates

Rates are based off the Editorial Freelancers Assoc. and are subject to change.

Payments are accepted through Paypal invoicing.

Detail Content Editing/ Developmental Editing:

Detailed content editing is priced at a rate of $0.025/word for ONE pass through of the work.

I also offer a ten-page sample package for a flat fee of $75. A page is considered a Word Document, 12pt font (Calibri typeface), and double-spaced lines with 1″ margins.

If you do not provide a properly formatted document, I will correct the document myself and send you an updated contract with a surcharge of $15.

I would like to emphasize that you are at total liberty to disagree with my final corrections, but you are still obligated to pay for services rendered, including any and all consultations.

ALSO: Content Editing is NOT a replacement for a copy editor! While there may be some glaring things I correct, I cannot guarantee I will have caught any or everything else. Especially considering so much re-working will shift the manuscript.

Readthroughs/Beta Reads:

This service is for a fresh perspective on your project. I will read through your manuscript and write up a report on my impressions, including common grammatical concerns, and a general critique of plot and character development.

To be clear, I will NOT correct the concerns, just read through and inform you of my findings.

This service is charged on a rate of $0.25/Page for ONE pass through. A page is considered a Word Document, 12pt font (Calibri typeface), and single-spaced lines with 1″ margins.

If you do not provide a properly formatted document, I will correct the document myself and send you an updated contract with a surcharge of $15.

Sensitivity Reading – Transgender Experience

If you have any transgender characters in your work, I can offer insight on the experience of an individual so that your writing is well received amid the audience.

I specialize in the FTM perspective but can also offer advice on MTF as well.

This service is charged on a rate of $0.35/Page for ONE pass through. A page is considered a Word Document, 12pt font (Calibri typeface), and single-spaced lines with 1″ margins.

If you do not provide a properly formatted document, I will correct the document myself and send you an updated contract with a surcharge of $15.

Copy Editing

Copy Editing is offered at a rate of $0.019/word for ONE pass through.

Please provide a formatted document: Word Document, 12pt font (Calibri typeface), and double-spaced lines with 1″ margins.

REFUND POLICY:

Due to the nature of the work, I DO NOT offer refunds for services rendered. Please make sure you are confident that my skill set is compatible with your projects. You can always contact me for details and for a sample edit. Sample edits are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for first time clients.
